주요 활동 사항

워싱턴 한인 선교 합창단은 하나님의 나라와 영광을 위하여 복음을 전파할 목적으로 1989년에 창단된 자비량 선교 단체입니다. 저희 합창단은 하나님의 은혜로 지난 30 여 년간 정기공연, 선교 지원, 지역사회 봉사 등 다각적인 활동을 전개해 왔습니다.

1.  정기공연 및 찬양 사역 

• 정기 공연 개최: 1990 년 제 1 회 공연을 시작으로 2025 년 제 29 회에 이르기까지 매년 정기공연을 개최하고 있습니다.  

• 주제별 선교 지원: 각 공연은 특정 선교 목적을 가지고 진행되었습니다.

    o   구소련 및 북한·중공 한인 선교 지원

    o   선교사 자녀 및 오지 사역 선교사 후원

    o   지구촌 흩어진 한인 후예 선교 등

• 특별 기획: 2002 년에는 찬양과 뮤직 드라마(요셉)를 결합한 새로운 형태의 공연을 선보이기도 했습니다.

2.  지역사회 및 소외 계층 위문

• 양로원 및 노인 아파트 방문: 타코마, 벨뷰, 시애틀 지역의 미국인 및 한인 양로원, 중국인(Kin-On)·일본인(Keiro) 양로원을 정기적으로 방문하여 위문 찬양을 진행했습니다.

• 취약 계층 지원: 노숙자(Homeless People)를 위한 공연과 노인복지시설 건축을 위한 자선 음악회, 북한 동포 돕기 자선 음악회 등을 통해 실질적인 도움을 실천했습니다.

3.  선교지 방문 및 교회 협력 활동

• 원거리 선교지 연주: 알래스카(앵커리지, 원주민 선교), 하와이, 캐나다 밴쿠버 등 선교지를 직접 방문하여 연주회를 개최하였습니다.

• 교회 행사 찬양: 워싱턴주 지역 교회들의 창립 예배, 헌당 예배, 부흥회 및 장로협의회 주최 광복절·삼일절 기념예배에서 찬양으로 봉사하였습니다.

• 합동 공연: 2008 년에는 워싱턴주 장로성가단과 '대관식 미사'를 합동 공연하며 지역 찬양 단체와 교류하였습니다.

Key Activities

The Washington Korean Mission Choir is a self-supporting missionary organization founded in 1989 with the aim of spreading the Gospel for the glory and Kingdom of God. By the grace of God, the choir has engaged in diverse activities over the past three decades, including regular concerts, support for missionary work, and community service.

1. Regular Concerts and Praise Ministry 

• Annual Concerts: Starting with the 1st performance in 1990, the chorus has held its annually, reaching its 29th performance in 2025.

• Themed Mission Support: Each concert is conducted with a specific missionary purpose:

    o   Support for Korean missions in the former Soviet Union, North Korea, and China.

    o   Sponsoring children of missionaries and those serving in remote areas.

    o   Missions for the Korean diaspora scattered across the globe.

• Special Projects: In 2002, the chorus introduced a new performance format combining praise with a musical drama titled "Joseph".

2. Community Service and Outreach for the Underprivileged

• Visits to Nursing Homes and Senior Apartments: The chorus regularly conducts outreach visits to American and Korean nursing homes in the Tacoma, Bellevue, and Seattle areas, as well as Chinese (Kin-On) and Japanese (Keiro) facilities.

• Support for Vulnerable Groups: The chorus has provided practical assistance through performances for the homeless, charity concerts for the construction of senior welfare facilities, and benefit concerts to help North Korean compatriots.

3. Mission Field Visits and Church Collaboration

•  Remote Mission Field Performances: The chorus has personally visited and held concerts in various mission fields, including Alaska (Anchorage and native missions), Hawaii, and Vancouver, Canada.

• Church Event Ministry: The group serves through praise at founding anniversaries, dedication services, and revival meetings for local churches in Washington State, as well as Independence Day and March 1st Movement commemorative services hosted by the Council of Elders.

• Joint Performances: In 2008, the chorus collaborated with the Washington State Elders’ Choir for a joint performance of the "Coronation Mass," fostering fellowship with local musical organizations.
